During our annual meeting last month, we elected three new board members and a new chairperson, while also celebrating nearly a decade of service of our three outgoing board members.
New board members include Steve Cundall of Hyannis, an experienced leader, entrepreneur and founder of the Cornerstone Group. Steve and his team at the Cornerstone Group – now celebrating their 20th year – work with over 100 companies and thousands of leaders, helping them make better hiring decisions and increase workforce engagement.
Also joining the board is Lisa Errico of Mashpee, a retired school adjustment counselor who has been involved with the Cape and Islands United Way since 2011. Lisa served on the Community Investment Committee, reviewing grant applications and participating in the decision-making process for grant recipients.
The third new board member is Jennifer McCartin of Osterville, a real estate agent with Sotheby’s International who has also been involved with the Cape and Islands United Way for several years. Jennifer served on various Community Investment committees, reviewing grant proposals and conducting site reviews. Currently, Jennifer chairs the Education Impact Team and sits on the Community Impact Council.
Todd Machnik, General Counsel and Director of Operations for Today Real Estate, was recognized as the organization’s new chair. The new vice chair is Carrie Woods, a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. Outgoing chair Donna Morris, owner of RPM Carpets in Harwich, was recognized for her two years of leadership. Donna will continue to serve as a board member. Outgoing board members recognized for their many years of service include attorney John Kenney, Shawn DeLude of Nauset Disposal and Richard Fairbanks of Orleans Auto. Both DeLude and Fairbanks will retain ex-officio seats on the board.
